The University of North Dakota hockey coach Dave Hakstol announced earlier today that Montreal's prospect Danny Kristo has been cleared for full practice. Kristo was indefinitely sidelined from the game after he suffered from a frostbite to his right toes due to exposure to extreme cold while walking near the campus at the end of January. However, there was no confirmation given on whether he will be joining his team, the North Dakota Fighting Sioux, for their next encounter.
Kristo, 20, selected 56th overall (2nd Round) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens is currently in his second season with the UND Fighting Sioux and has accumulated 22 points in 28 games this season with 5 goals and 17 assists. Prior to being sidelined because of the frostbite, the circumstances surrounding which are still not clear, he had four goals and 13 assists in his last 12 games.
