The Hamilton Bulldogs will have to face elimination for the first time this post-season after falling 1-0 against the Moose in front of their home crowd. The question is how will they face it? Game 6 did not show any good news for the Bulldogs as they were not prepared for a Manitoba Moose team who were humiliated at home 5-1 in game 5. A short-handed marker by Alexandre Bolduc made a huge difference in this game as it was all that was required to extend the series to a 7th deciding showdown tonight.

Credit must be given to the Moose who played a perfect road game and outplayed the ‘Dogs in every aspect, who are now 4-0 in this playoffs when facing elimination. Both goaltenders played their part but only one goalie had the better save percentage. Drew MacIntyre made 33 out of 34 shots while Eddie Lack made 25 for 25 for his second shutout of the playoffs.

“We were way more than a little off. That was just not fun to watch,” said Hamilton goaltender Drew MacIntyre. “We got totally outcompeted and they beat us in every little detail and that’s tough to swallow.

The golden opportunity was given to the Bulldogs with 1:25 remaining in the final period. A late goaltender interference call allowed the Bulldogs to go two men up with the net empty to send the game into overtime. Nigel Dawes almost had the shutout buster but his shot hit the post and stayed out of the net.

Game 7 will be played tonight at the Copps Coliseum at 7:30 EST. The players need to put behind the past six games and find a way to solve Eddie Lack who’s been a huge factor for the Moose in every victory.
